Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) will officially launch in China on January 23, 2025, under the name "决胜巅峰". As a globally successful multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, its prospects in the Chinese market are highly anticipated.
Since its release in 2016, MLBB has amassed over 1.5 billion users worldwide, with over 110 million monthly active users across more than 200 countries and regions. The game has won the "Best Mobile Esports Game" award from Mobies for two consecutive years and was nominated for TGA’s Best Esports Game in 2024. According to Andrea, the lead designer of "决胜巅峰," the game features 27 unique hero skill mechanics, far exceeding the industry average. The game’s world esports tournaments boast a 66.4% hero appearance rate, reflecting strong hero balance. Additionally, new battlefield mechanics enhance gameplay, such as symmetrical river layouts and randomly spawning creatures to ensure fair matches, as well as "Spotlight Crystal" and "Energy Overflow" to create comeback opportunities and add strategic depth.
Furthermore, "决胜巅峰" introduces a unique "MVP of the losing team doesn’t lose a star" system and ensures no match manipulation or forced losing streaks, giving players complete control over their matches.
The Chinese launch of MLBB is highly anticipated. Before its official release, over 10 million players had already pre-registered, showing strong interest. To attract more players, the game is offering a "100 Billion MOBA Subsidy Program", granting free access to over 70 heroes and 130 skins in the first season. Additionally, a "Season Salary" system allows players reaching Master rank and above to earn cash rewards, with a total annual prize pool of 50 million yuan.
