Genshin Impact Versions 6.0–6.8: All 11 New Characters Revealed! Who Are You Most Excited For?

Yesterday, Genshin Impact officially released a major PV—the "Canticle of the Moon" (空月之歌) trailer. Starting from Version 6.0, the game will enter a full-year arc titled Canticle of the Moon. In the trailer, 11 new characters were revealed, including long-anticipated figures such as Grand Master Varka, Alice, and the mysterious “Girl.” Let’s take a look at them one by one!

1. Varka – Anemo Claymore

Ever since Mondstadt, players have been eagerly awaiting the Grand Master Varka, but we've only heard bits and pieces about him through other characters. In Version 6.0, he will finally make his appearance!

Contrary to many players’ expectations, Varka is a young-looking adult male with blond hair and blue eyes, confidently wielding a Wolf’s Gravestone claymore.

He says, “I came here for the moon (Mondstadt),” hinting at a major battle in Nordkalé to defend his homeland. Judging by the Vision on his waist, he is an Anemo Claymore user.

2. Aino

Aino is Inéz’s relative and a designer who works at the Dingling-Klang Egg Roll Workshop. She was first mentioned in game texts and made her early visual debut in the 5.8 livestream.

Aino is a pink-haired loli, with screws and bolts decorating her hair and dress—a fitting touch for Inéz’s designer. In the PV, she calls Varka “uncle” and has a very cute and energetic demeanor.

3. Yakoda

A brand-new character with no prior appearances.

She has a young girl’s body type and a very trendy fashion style. Her cheerful and carefree personality, as shown in the PV, suggests she lives in the moment and enjoys life.

4. Durin – Pyro

Durin, now in human form through Albedo’s alchemy.

For those who may not recall his story—or players who joined around the Natlan update—it’s worth revisiting Version 4.8’s summer event “Simulanka.”

As a humanoid, Durin still retains dragon traits—horns on his head, wings on his back. He has purple hair, red eyes, and a red-purple color scheme. His Vision appears to be Pyro.

In the PV, he struggles slightly to speak, possibly not fully adapted to his human form yet.

5. Felinse – Electro

Felinse is clearly a member of the Lanternbearers, an ancient group that defends Nordkalé from Abyssal raids.

He is an adult male with blue hair and golden eyes, giving off a calm and stoic aura. His role appears to be vital in the looming conflict.

6. Sandoné (The Marionette)

One of the Fatui Harbingers, previously seen in the “A Winter Night’s Lazzo” PV.

Sandoné is from Fontaine, and her appearance hasn’t changed much—still seated on a massive mechanical hand. From the PV, it’s clear the “Children of Frostmoon” are resisting the Fatui, which Sandoné dismisses with disdain.

7. Rauma – Dendro

Recently debuted in a preview PV. She is a Divine Emissary of the Frostmoon Children in Nordkalé.

In the trailer, she’s shown performing a ritual—smearing blood on her forehead while praying for guidance from the Moon Goddess. The moment is both resolute and sacred.

8. Nephle – Dendro

Another first-time appearance. Little is currently known.

She is an adult female, and her elegant appearance, storytelling skills, and the architectural background in her scene hint that she might be the proprietor of the Secret Archive at the Voynich Trading Company.

9. Nico (Codename N)

A prophet-like witch from the Hexenzirkel. In past storylines—such as Sumeru's Archon Quest and the Chasm’s “Perilous Trail”—the voice in the Traveler’s mind offering cryptic warnings was actually Nico.

In the PV, Nico undergoes a transformation under moonlight, sprouting golden wings behind her back—a dramatic and powerful visual.

10. Girl of the Moon – Columbia

A breakout character from the “A Winter Night’s Lazzo” PV. Her singing by the Lady’s crystal coffin was haunting and moving.

Now, in the Canticle of the Moon trailer, we finally get a clearer view of her face.

Her title has changed from simply “The Girl” to “Girl of the Moon.” Interestingly, the PV shows no direct appearance of the Moon Goddess. Given Nordkalé’s worship of the Moon Goddess, this suggests that the deity might no longer exist—and the Girl of the Moon could be her avatar or stand-in.

If that’s the case, she might be the central character for the entire Moon-based system in Nordkalé.

11. Alice

A very familiar character to us all—Alice, a founding member of the Hexenzirkel, Klee’s mother, and author of the Teyvat Travel Guide.

She’s essentially a grown-up Klee—blond hair, red eyes, elf ears, and even the curved bangs framing her face are exactly the same.

The PV shows Alice and Albedo arriving in Nordkalé by boat to initiate a new operation. Interestingly, the Wanderer is also on board, coming to Nordkalé to settle a personal score.

Final Thoughts

In the Nordkalé arc, forces from every nation and faction are gathering, making it one of the most exciting chapters to date.

Each major region update typically introduces around 17 new characters, combining both 5-stars and 4-stars. With 11 already shown in the PV, these likely represent the main characters of Versions 6.0 to 6.8.

The remaining new characters will probably come from other nations—such as Liyue’s Lantern Rite 4-stars or sudden surprise releases.

Given that the Canticle of the Moon storyline focuses on the Moon system, players will definitely want to save up Primogems for the key supports and main DPS units tied to this system.
