Zenless Zone Zero's version 2.1 will be updated on July 16, and today we’re previewing the new Phase 1 banner character: Yoyo (Fubuki Yoyo).
1. Skill Overview
◆ Core Passive: Colorful Tricks
Upon entering battle, Yoyo immediately gains 3 Sweetness Points (max 6).
When her Enhanced Special Attack or Ultimate hits an enemy, all allies receive the Tanuki’s Wish buff:
Grants ATK equal to 40% of Yoyo’s base ATK.
Increases DMG dealt by 15% for 40 seconds. Duration refreshes when re-applied.
◆ Additional Ability: The More, The Merrier
Activates when there's an Abnormal character or a character from the same faction in the team.
For every point of Anomaly Mastery above 100, allies affected by Tanuki’s Wish gain:
Increased Anomaly Buildup Rate
Increased Anomaly DMG
Increased Disorder DMG
Analysis:
Yoyo is a versatile and powerful support. She only needs to be brought out once every 40 seconds to use an Enhanced Special Attack or Ultimate, and she boosts:
Team ATK
Total DMG dealt
Anomaly buildup
Anomaly and Disorder DMG
A true all-around buffer for Abnormal teams.
2. Combat Skills
◆ Watch the Cavities! (Enhanced Special Attack)
Throws a bomb dealing Physical DMG and applies Sugar Shock status to enemies.
Restores 2 Sweetness Points.
Triggers Quick Assist when hitting enemies.
When used as a follow-up from a Dodge Counter, Quick Assist, or Assist Attack, animation speeds up.
◆ No Surrender, Just Mischief! (Ultimate)
Deals massive Physical DMG in a wide AoE and applies Sugar Shock to enemies.
Restores 8.5 Energy to other team members and 2 Sweetness Points to Yoyo.
Triggers Quick Assist when hitting enemies.
Analysis:
Both Enhanced Special and Ultimate:
Apply Sugar Shock
Trigger Quick Assist
Restore Sweetness Points
Their synergy makes Yoyo’s role smooth and automatic in combat.
3. Sugar Shock Effect
When enemies are under Sugar Shock, the first attack from the active character that matches the enemy’s attribute triggers Colorful Blast.
After that, Yoyo’s normal attacks (Candy Fireworks & Candy Fireworks: EX) inherit the attribute of that Colorful Blast.
Analysis:
Yoyo’s Enhanced Special or Ultimate triggers Quick Assist from the main DPS. If the DPS follows with an attribute-based attack, Yoyo’s follow-up attacks will match the same element, aiding Abnormal buildup.
⚠️ Note: Only one main DPS can be bonded this way—no double-element conversion like Kazuha in Genshin.
4. Normal Attacks: Candy Fireworks, Hard Candy Shot, Candy Fireworks: EX
While enemies are under Sugar Shock, they are attacked every second by Candy Fireworks.
These attacks contribute buildup only, not anomaly damage calculation. When Yoyo has Sweetness Points, other characters hitting enemies will consume 1 Sweetness Point to trigger Hard Candy Shot (max once every 8s).
Enemies hit by Hard Candy Shot or an Assist Attack will also be struck by Candy Fireworks: EX.
Again, these contribute only buildup, not anomaly DMG.
Clarification:
Anomaly DMG is still based on the main DPS’s stats, not Yoyo’s. So even if her Anomaly Mastery is low, the damage won’t be affected.
5. Recommended Equipment
◆ Best-in-slot: Roly-Poly Tanuki Tricks (Signature W-Engine)
Gives Energy Regen and Anomaly Mastery, both of which Yoyo needs.
Max stats: ATK +713, Energy Regen +60%.
Passive – Ingenious Tactics:
When Enhanced Special or Ultimate deals Physical DMG:
+30/34/39/43/48 Anomaly Mastery for 40s.When Additional Attacks hit:
+60/69/78/87/96 Anomaly Proficiency to the whole team for 40s (teamwide, unique).
◆ F2P Option: Pugnacious Appo (Lucy’s Signature)
Also gives Energy Regen, very suitable for Yoyo.
Bonus: Yoyo’s Tanuki is constantly attacking enemies, which helps stack Appo’s passive.
6. Summary & Pull Recommendation
Yoyo’s kit may look complex, but her gameplay is actually similar to Nicole:
Build Energy
Use Enhanced Skills or Ult when ready
Trigger Assist Strikes with yellow flash prompts
Everything else is handled passively in the background.
If you’re playing or planning to build Abnormal DPS characters like Jane, Von Lycaon, Anby, or Ellen, then pulling for Yoyo is highly recommended.
She is to Abnormal teams what Nicole is to Strike teams—a must-have core support.
