Version 3.1 runs February 5 through March 18, 2026. Two new 5-stars, a packed event schedule, and roughly 140 free pulls available for F2P players who work for them. Whether you should spend real money comes down to three things: your pity position, which unit you're targeting, and whether you've actually exhausted every free Astrite source first.
What's New in Version 3.1
New Resonators and Where They Stand
Phase 1 (Feb 5–26) features Aemeath alongside reruns of Chisa and Lupa. Phase 2 (Feb 26–Mar 18) brings Luuk Herssen — a 5-star Spectro Tune Break DPS — with Galbrena on rerun.
Luuk Herssen is the priority pull of 3.1. He's the defining Spectro Tune Break damage dealer for the 3.x meta, synergizing directly with Lynae, Mornye, and Sanhua. If you're building a Tune Strain team, he's the foundation — not an option.
Aemeath is harder to place. Community testing suggests pre-3.0 limited units increasingly plateau in Tower of Adversity without Tune Strain synergy. Pull him if he fills a real roster gap; skip if you're resource-constrained.
Galbrena is worth considering if you lack a Havoc slot filler like Camellya — she's competitive in Tower and Whimpering Wastes as a Fusion DPS. But she needs her signature pistol (Lux & Umbra) to hit her damage ceiling. That's a double investment, so factor it in before committing.
New Weapons
Events Worth Your Time
The Moonlit Path event (through March 18) is the most valuable content source this patch. Complete it for Radiant Tide ×30, a selectable 5-star Resonator chest at 980 Rings (Shorekeeper, Camellya, or Jinhsi), and a full cosmetic set at 1600 Rings. Those 30 Radiant Tides alone are nearly 19 pulls — don't skip this.
The Unsigned Good Wishes login event delivers 1,600 Astrite over 7 days. That's 10 free pulls just for logging in.
March 2026 Redemption Codes
Redeem at Union Level 2 via Terminal > Settings > Other Settings > Redemption Code. Claim from your Mailbox immediately — rewards expire 14–15 days after redemption.
WUTHERINGGIFT — 50 Astrite + materials + Shell Credits
PAPERPLANE — 100 Astrite + 4 Premium Resonance Potion + 5 Advanced Energy Core
WARMSUNLIGHT — 100 Astrite + 4 Premium Enclosure Tank II + 40,000 Shell Credits
JOURNEYWELL — 100 Astrite + 2 Forgery Premium Supply II + 2 Advanced Sealed Tube
That's 450 Astrite — nearly 3 free pulls — from codes alone.
Banner Analysis: Pull Priority
Short version: pull Luuk Herssen if you have 60+ pulls saved or are close to guaranteed pity. Skip Phase 1 reruns unless Chisa or Lupa fills a specific team gap.
Character Banners
Luuk Herssen is the clear meta investment. His value compounds as more Tune Strain supports release through 3.x — pulling him now means he gets stronger over time, not weaker.
Aemeath is situational. He's new, but new doesn't automatically mean meta in 3.x content. Pull for the character, not the investment thesis.
Weapon Banner — Honest Assessment
Weapon banner pity is completely separate from character banner pity and does NOT carry over. Every pull on Daybreaker's Spine is a pull that doesn't advance your character pity. Luuk Herssen performs well at S0 without his signature weapon. For F2P and dolphin players, the weapon banner is a hard skip.
Galbrena is the exception — she genuinely needs Lux & Umbra — but that's a significant double commitment.
Pull Decision by Player Type
Version 3.2 launches March 19 — one day after 3.1 ends — with Sigrika (5-star Aero Gauntlets main DPS) and Qiuyuan (5-star Aero Sword sub-DPS/buffer). If Aero Tune Strain is your target, skipping 3.1 entirely is a legitimate strategy.
The Math: Astrite, Pulls, and Pity
Pity System
Hard pity hits at 80 convenes on the Tidal Chorus limited banner. Soft pity begins around pulls 65–75. The 50/50 system means your first 5-star has a 50% chance of being the featured unit; lose the flip, and your next 5-star is guaranteed featured. Pity carries over between limited character banners — pulls on Aemeath's banner count toward Luuk's pity.
Conversion Rates
1 pull = 160 Astrite
10 pulls = 1,600 Astrite
80 pulls (hard pity) = 12,800 Astrite
160 pulls (guaranteed after 50/50 loss) = 25,600 Astrite
Realistic Cost to Guarantee
Check your Pioneer Podcast (gacha history) before spending anything. If you're at 60+ pity on guarantee, you might need only 20 pulls — potentially covered by free sources alone.

Free Astrite in March 2026: Full Breakdown
F2P players can realistically earn around 140 pulls across the full 41-day patch.
The exploration figure assumes you're actively clearing new 3.1 map content. Already 100% explored previous regions? Your yield drops — conservative estimate for veteran players sits around 80–90 pulls.
One thing most guides underemphasize: clear Tower of Adversity every reset. That 1,600 Astrite requires actual gameplay performance, not just logging in, but it's one of the most reliable high-value sources per patch.

Recharge Packages: Best Value Breakdown
Lunite Subscription — Start Here
The Lunite Subscription at $4.99 delivers 300 Lunite immediately plus 90 Astrite daily for 30 days — roughly 2,700 Astrite total, or about 17 pulls for $4.99. Effective cost: ~$0.29 per pull. Nothing else at this price point comes close.

The condition: log in daily. Miss days, lose value. It's also non-renewing — you repurchase manually each month.
Activate on Day 1 of the patch. Delaying to Day 14 costs you ~1,170 Astrite in missed daily rewards. That's more than 7 pulls gone from procrastination alone.

Package Comparison
First-Time Purchase Bonus
Select Lunite packs double on first purchase. The ×6480 pack at $99.99 effectively becomes ~12,960 Lunite. If you've never spent on Wuthering Waves, don't waste this bonus on a small pack — the doubling applies once, so use it where it counts.
The $20 Dolphin Sweet Spot
Lunite Subscription + Battle Pass at ~$20/month yields approximately 174 pulls per patch. The Battle Pass adds Transducers and materials that are farmable but time-consuming — making this combination more efficient than buying direct Lunite packs. Beyond this spending floor, returns diminish sharply.

Three Mistakes That Cost Players Real Money
Topping up before farming free Astrite. Complete exploration, clear Tower, run all events first. Players who do this consistently need 20–40 fewer purchased pulls than those who spend on Day 1.
Spending Afterglow Coral on Radiant Tides. Coral goes toward Wavebands (Resonator duplicates). Radiant Tides are available through events and Moonlit Path — don't burn Coral on pull currency.
Impulse-pulling the weapon banner. Weapon pity is separate from character pity. Every pull on Daybreaker's Spine doesn't advance your character goals. Budget for both explicitly, or skip the weapon banner entirely.
Should You Top Up? Decision Framework
F2P Checklist Before Spending
Redeemed all four March 2026 codes? (450 Astrite)
Completed Unsigned Good Wishes login event? (1,600 Astrite)
Cleared Moonlit Path for 30 Radiant Tides?
Checked current pity in Pioneer Podcast?
Cleared Tower of Adversity this reset?
Explored all new 3.1 map content?
If any box is unchecked, you don't have enough information to know whether you need to spend. Many players who run this checklist find they're already within striking distance of their target without opening their wallet.
Dolphin Decision Tree
Pull Luuk Herssen if: You're building a Tune Strain team, have 60+ pulls saved, and are on guarantee or already lost your 50/50.
Skip 3.1 if: You're targeting Sigrika or Qiuyuan in 3.2, have fewer than 40 pulls saved, or already have a functional Spectro DPS.
Red Flags — Wait Before Spending
Below 40 pulls saved with no guarantee and no pity progress
Haven't completed the free Astrite checklist
Considering the weapon banner as your primary spend
Pulling Phase 1 reruns without a specific team need
Haven't decided between 3.1 and 3.2 units yet
What's Coming in 3.2
Version 3.2 launches March 19 — immediately after 3.1 ends. Sigrika (5-star Aero Gauntlets main DPS) and Qiuyuan (5-star Aero Sword sub-DPS/buffer) headline the patch, alongside Lynae, Zani, and Phoebe. Banking your 140 free pulls through 3.1 and entering 3.2 with a full wallet is a completely legitimate strategy. The 41-day version cycle means skipping one patch doesn't set you back — it sets you up.
FAQ
How much does it cost to guarantee a 5-star Resonator? Worst case: 160 pulls (25,600 Astrite) if you lose the 50/50 and hit hard pity twice. Average with soft pity: 70–110 pulls (11,200–17,600 Astrite). Your current pity position changes everything — check Pioneer Podcast first.
How many free Astrite can I get in March 2026? Roughly 140 pulls across the full 41-day patch: daily commissions (~15 pulls), events (~25), exploration (~37), Tower (~10), login event (10), Moonlit Path (30 Radiant Tides), and codes (~3). Conservative estimate for players who've already explored most content: 80–90 pulls.
Is the Lunite Subscription worth it? Yes — best value purchase in the game at $4.99 for ~17 pulls. Activate Day 1 and log in daily. Delaying two weeks costs you 7+ pulls in missed rewards.
Should I pull the weapon banner for Luuk Herssen? For most players, no. Luuk performs well at S0 without Daybreaker's Spine, and weapon pity doesn't carry over to character banners. Only consider it if you're a whale pushing absolute damage ceilings.
What new characters are in March 2026? Phase 1 (Feb 5–26): Aemeath (new 5-star), Chisa and Lupa (reruns). Phase 2 (Feb 26–Mar 18): Luuk Herssen (new 5-star Spectro Tune Break DPS), Galbrena (rerun Fusion DPS).
Is spending worth it as F2P? The Lunite Subscription at $4.99 is the one purchase that genuinely bridges F2P and light spending. Beyond that, players who complete all events, exploration, and Tower content pull competitively without spending. Top up only after exhausting free sources — the math almost always looks better than you expect once you do.
3.1 has a clear priority target in Luuk Herssen, a generous free Astrite schedule, and a 3.2 launching the very next day that gives skippers a real reason to save. Check your pity, run the checklist, and make the call with actual numbers — not FOMO.
