In this month’s Bedtime Talk event, the developers officially revealed part of the upcoming costume schedule! We now have a fairly clear picture of the Essence character lineups for the second half of the year.
Schedule
The biggest highlight is that Fool’s Gold will be getting a limited Golden costume in the second half of the year. While it wasn't explicitly stated whether it’s a second-limited (2nd-limited) costume, based on the character’s popularity, it’s very likely to appear in an Essence pool.
The main storyline "Remnants of Memory" will continue in November, and Queen Bee will debut as the Entomologist's new ID. Since she’s “coming very soon,” it’s highly likely that Fool’s Gold’s new limited will appear in Season 40’s Essence 1 or 2, placing the release around mid-October. The three Essences of Season 40 are now fairly predictable: likely to feature an old character (possibly the Projectionist), Fool’s Gold, and Queen Bee.
By year’s end, Season 41 will also bring another Essence and a COA Abyss costume—though it’s unclear which character will receive them.
Other upcoming Golden limited costumes include:
Geisha,
Bloody Queen, and
Sculptor.
Sculptor will be the second character in the “Grotesque Tales” collection, though it’s unclear if she’ll debut this year. The most likely events to feature these limited Gold skins will be during the Autumn Festival and Halloween, so expect Geisha and Bloody Queen’s new costumes to drop around then!
The Violinist’s "Knight of the Pale Moon" skin and its matching Accessory, as well as Fool’s Gold’s Purple Accessory "Unfinished Movement", will both return soon. The "Unfinished Movement" accessory will be available for 240 Echoes of Revelation.
Other News
The devs finally remembered the long-forgotten mini-warden pets that disappeared after late 2023. Now, some Survivor universal pets will be expanded to work with all characters—including hunters!
This was probably the most “human” and down-to-earth dev update we’ve had in a while. The team addressed two of the community’s most controversial issues: intentional griefing in ranked and toxic behavior like emoting/camping after downing survivors. They’ve promised stricter moderation and penalties, showing a genuine desire to improve the game’s overall environment.
Even though the Flywheel Effect was nerfed, the devs said they’re looking into ways to re-optimize it. Good to know they’re listening!
At long last, the songs "Beneath the Truth" and "Nymph Prize" are being added to the Manor Lobby music playlist—now you can enjoy them while waiting for matches. A small but thoughtful change.
With such sincere responses from the devs, here’s hoping Identity V only gets better from here on out.
Thanks for reading this update!
Wishing you golden luck and effortless rank-ups ahead!
